Sleeping Bunny Rabbit Free Crochet Pattern.



Sleeping Bunny Rabbit

This cute bunny rabbit crochet pattern would be great as a gift or to decorate your house for Easter!

Materials used: Drops Safran, 2.25mm Hook, Stitch Marker, Tapestry Needle, Embroidery Thread.

Length of bunny 10cm.

You can use any yarn for this pattern just be sure to use a smaller hook then yarn needs so the stitches are tight and their are no holes.

All parts of this bunny are worked in continuous rounds, place stitch marker in last stitch of each round to keep track.

Colour A - Pink

Colour B- Cream

Head

With colour A:

Chain 2 Round 1: 6 dc in 2nd chain from hook Round 2: 2 dc in each stitch ( 12 dc) Round 3: * 1 dc in next stitch, 2 dc in the following stitch. Repeat from * around (18 dc) Round 4: *1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the following stitch. Repeat from * around (24 dc) Round 5: *1 dc in each of the next 3 stitches, 2 dc in the following stitch. Repeat from * around (30 dc) Round 6: *1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, 2 dc in the following stitch. Repeat from * around (36 dc) Round 7- 10: dc in each stitch around.

Using a tapestry needle and embroidery thread sew eyes and nose for the face.

Round 11: *1 dc in each of the next 4 stitches, dc2tog over the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around (30 dc) Round 12: dc in each stitch around. Round 13: *1 dc in each of the next 3 stitches, dc2tog over the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. (24 dc) Round 14: dc in each stitch around. Round 15: *1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches, dc2tog over the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. (18 dc) Round 16: * 1 dc in next stitch, dc2tog over next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. (12 dc) Round 17: dc2tog around. (6 dc)

Cut yarn leaving a long tail and close hole using a tapestry needle. Then thread needle through to the bottom of the head to use to fasten to the body. See pic.



Body

With colour B:

Chain 2 Round 1: 6 dc in 2nd chain from hook Round 2: 2 dc in each stitch ( 12 dc) Round 3: *1 dc in next stitch, 2 dc in the following stitch. Repeat from * around (18 dc) Round 4: *1 dc in each of the next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the following stitch. Repeat from * around (24 dc) Round 5: *1 dc in each of the next 3 stitches, 2 dc in the following stitch. Repeat from * around (30 dc)

Change to colour A:

Round 6-9: dc in each stitch around.

Place stitch marker in last stitch and weave in any ends so far, it's easier to do this before starting to decrease.

Round 10: *1 dc in each of the next 3 stitches, dc2tog over the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. (24 dc) Round 11: dc in each stitch around. Round 12: *dc in each of the next 2 stitches, dc2tog over the next 2 stitches. repeat from * around. (18 dc)

Add toy stuffing to body.

Round 13: dc2tog over every 2 stitches around (12 dc)

Fasten off leaving a long tail and with tapestry needle close the hole. weave in any ends.

Ears

Chain 4 Row 1: dc in 2nd chain from hook and in each stitch across, chain 1, turn. (3 dc) Row 2-8: dc in each stitch across, chain 1, turn.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for attaching to the head.

The foundation chain will be the top of the ears so weave in any ends and attach ears to the head.

Attach head to body.

Tail

With colour B:

Chain 2 Round 1: 6 dc in 2nd chain from hook Round 2: 2 dc in each stitch ( 12 dc) Round 3-5: dc in each stitch around.

Fill tail with toy stuffing.

Round 6: dc2tog every 2 stitches round ( 6 dc)

Fasten off leaving long tail and attach to body.
