Crochet Paris Stitch Pattern
This is a lovely, textured stitch which is easy to do and quick to work up.
For this square I used Scheepjes Stone Washed in Garnet. The size of the square is 10cm after blocking.
You will need:
5mm hook
Scheepjes Stone Washed or an Aran yarn equivalent.
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Stitches used (U.K Terms)
Ch - Chain
Dc - Double Crochet
Tr - Treble Crochet
To Start
Chain 16
Row 1 - 1 Tr in 4th chain from hook, chain 2 and then dc in the same chain as the last treble. *skip 2 chains make 2 tr, 2 ch and 1 dc in the next chain. Repeat from * to end. Turn
Row 2 - Chain 3 (counts as a treble) skip first dc and make 1tr, 2 ch and 1 dc in the first 2 chain space. *Skip the 2 tr and 1dc and make 2 tr, 2 ch and 1 dc in the next 2 chain space. Repeat from * to end. Turn.
Repeat row 2 seven times in total for a 10cm square.
I think this stitch is so pretty and would be good for bags, scarves or blankets.
