The Crunch Clutch Bag Crochet Pattern

I love the crochet crunch stitch so much that I decided to create a little clutch bag.

This bag is wonderfully textured and easy to create for yourself.

The width of the bag measures 20cm and the height is 14cm.

Materials

4.5 crochet hook

100 grams of Drops Paris yarn or any equivalent Aran weight cotton yarn

Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

3cm Button

Stitches Used (U.K terms)

Chain - Ch

Slip stitch - sl st

Half Treble - htr

Tension

18 stitches of pattern and 20 rows = 10cm square.

Pattern

Chain 37

Row 1- Sl st in 3rd chain from hook, *1 htr in next chain, sl st in following chain repeat from * until end, sl st in the last chain. Turn.

Row 2 - Ch 2, skip the first stitch *sl st in the next stitc, htr in the following stitch. Repeat from * until end, sl st in the turning chain. Turn.

Repeat row 2 until piece measures 25cm. Place marker on this row.

Bag Flap

Repeat row 2 for 12 more rows

Button hole row - Ch 2, skip first stitch *sl st in next stitch, htr in the following stitch. Repeat from * 7 more times. Chain 4 and skip 4 stitches. *Htr in the next stitch, sl st in the following stitch. Repeat from * 7 more times ending with a sl st in the turning chain.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Fold the bag up to the marker and pin on each side.

Sew each side up to the marker, this will be the inside of the bag. Turn the bag the right way round and see on the button.

I hope you like this pattern and this stitch as much as I do!
